Happy 2024, Richton Park!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff, we want to convey our very best wishes of prosperity, good health, and endless moments of joy heading into the New Year. The past 12 months have been full of reasons to have enormous pride in our accomplishments, and we look forward with enthusiasm to 2024.
Just a few examples – Last August, our first annual House (Music) Fest, “Lost in Music,” was the most anticipated and attended event we have ever hosted. Setting the bar with over 2,500 people, the entire Glaeser Park was filled with great music, awesome dancing, delicious food trucks, and amazing energy. That Fall, our Richton Park “Your Party” Music Festival yielded the same results, with record numbers of attendees and families all coming out to enjoy a marvelous day of great entertainment and attractions. December marked the return of our forever-popular Holiday Express train, and it is a MUST that we acknowledge our annual Tree Lighting event, where over 400 people joined us at the Community Center for rink-skating, vendors, pictures with Mickey & Minnie Mouse, and of course the lighting of our Holiday Tree. Our Village events are illustrative of everything that is positive and vibrant about being in a smaller Village, but with huge personality. THAT is Richton Park, Your Home.
We are proud to have partnered with remarkable organizations like the Friends of Richton Park Foundation, for initiatives that benefit the community, assist youth programming, and especially fundraising that creates scholarships for resident scholars to further their education. We thank them for their hard work and dedication.
I have always been grateful to be here in Richton Park, and to have the opportunity to serve the people of Richton Park. As we strive to create a better quality of life for all of us, I am given countless opportunities to speak to the community, as well as new people, learning what matters to them, and to find out how our Village and Board can help. I look forward to the coming year; as we grow as a Village, and we welcome new challenges, opportunities, and achievements. We are counting on you for your engagement, participation, and feedback.
With your interest, support, and love, we will maintain our momentum and actively work to shape our own future as one of the Southland’s premier municipalities – with good governance, personality, and fiscal responsibility. We will continue to engage actively in serving you, and creating a better reality for the Village of Richton Park and the community.
Richton Park is awesome. If you’re not a believer, let us prove it to you. Our people have vision, we’ve got talent, and we’ve got drive. We are ecstatic that you are with us for the ride, and thank you for being part of it, helping make the past year so memorable. I invite you to join me in anticipating what we will accomplish together in the year to come.
Our primary objective, our mission, is to create and maintain a quality of life that you can boast to anyone about – a place that you are beyond proud to travel through, settle in to, feel safe in, and to call your home.
