Garbage & Recycling Services
Family owned and operated since 1956, Homewood Disposal is proud to be the hauler for your garbage, yard waste, and recycling services. The following information includes everything you need to know about your program. Upon pickup day, all materials should be placed at the curb.
GARBAGE PICKUP DAYS ARE: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY.
RECYCLING PICKUP IS EVERY OTHER WEEK ON GARBAGE DAY.
Each resident will receive, at no cost, a brown 95-gallon garbage cart and a green 95-gallon recycle cart. These carts are on wheels and have lids, which help keep the community clean by reducing rodent, insect, and litter problems. All carts are owned by Homewood Disposal. Serial numbers have been recorded and designated to each address. In the event you move out of your home, both carts must remain at the original address. Please do not put your address on the carts.

GARBAGE "NEED TO KNOWs"
Garbage cart will be picked up each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All garbage must be placed at the curb by 6:00am.
Extra garbage that will not fit in the cart, can be placed in personal cans or bags and set it next to the cart on garbage day.
Up to ONE large item can be picked up per week. See "Bulk Items" below.
Brown carts are to be used for garbage ONLY - no yard waste or recycling.
IMPORTANT! Please be sure all garbage is placed in garbage bags before you put it in your cart. This helps reduce odor and keeps material from blowing out of the cart when it is emptied. Placing your garbage in bags also helps maintain the cleanliness of the cart.
YARD WASTE "NEED TO KNOWs"
Grass clippings, leaves, branches, etc. are considered yard waste (no dirt or rock).
Yard waste is picked up weekly on your regular pickup day during yard waste season. (April - December 30th only)
All yard waste must be placed in 33-gallon paper yard waste bags or your own 35-gallon cans that are clearly labeled with a yard waste sticker. Stickers are available at Village Hall
Branches should be bundled and cut in 3-4 ft. lengths, no wider than 8 in. in diameter.
96-gallon yard waste carts are also available to rent for $2.70/month from Homewood Disposal. If you rented a yard waste cart from your previous hauler or are interested in renting a cart this season, please call our office or order online at www.mydisposal.
