Richton Park Parks and Rec is thrilled to announce the receipt of a $25,359 grant from Illinois Parks Recreation Association, Play Core, GameTime, and Cunningham Recreation Statewide Funding Initiative towards a new play system at Glaeser Park.

Glaeser Park “Play On” Playground promotes fitness and fun by implementing the Play On! design best practices to intentionally promote physical activity through active play and encourage the developmental progression of skills through healthy movement.
This outdoor play destination incorporates six key elements of play- balancing, brachiating, climbing, spinning, sliding, and swinging to promote fitness opportunities that support national physical education standards and efforts to combat childhood obesity.
The entire project will cost $119,036 and the remaining $93,677 will come from American Rescue Plan Fund.
The project encompasses performing park improvements and significant enhancements for quality of life, by providing ADA accessibility play system and eliminating the hazardous conditions that impede recreation enjoyment and safety.
The project will include:
- Removal and Disposal of outdated existing equipment
- Installation of ADA complaint play system structure for Ages 2-5 and 5-12
