About the Scholarship

Purpose

To promote and encourage academic achievement and life-long learning among Richton Park residents. The Richton Park annual golf outing was started by Bill Fleming who contributed many years to it as well as service to the Village of Richton Park. The scholarship program was renamed in his honor in August 1999.

Eligibility

Applicants may be Richton Park high school seniors planning to enter college, students currently enrolled or in college or an adult desiring continuing education. Interested individuals must be academically capable and demonstrate a financial need. They must submit a completed application, and provide evidence of college acceptance and letters of recommendation.

Friends of Richton Park, the non-profit foundation of the Village of Richton Park, announced it has awarded the Bill Fleming scholarship to six Richton Park high school and college students. The awards, ranging from $750 to $1,000 each, will be used for college tuition.

The Bill Fleming Scholarship and Committee awards college scholarships to eligible residents of Richton Park who are high school graduates, students currently enrolled in a college or university, and adults who are continuing their education.

Friends of  Richton Park and the Village of Richton Park supports the advancement of higher education for the residents of Richton Park by providing financial assistance for qualifying and deserving residents wishing to continue their education.
