Donate to our "April Food Day" Food Drive
Join the Village of Richton Park as we partner with the United Way of Metro Chicago for the 2019 April Food Day! The annual food collection event and awards luncheon addresses food insecurity and the restocking of food pantries in the south-southwest suburbs, a region that is home to the fastest growing population of people living at or below the poverty line. Last year, Richton Park residents donated well over 2,000 pounds of food and non-perishable items, contributing to the more than 128,000 pounds of food the United Way collected overall. to address summer food insecurity and to restock food pantries.
Through donations of non-perishable food items, household goods and financial support for our 2019 event, you can help more individuals and families in the south-southwest suburbs meet some of their most basic needs. There are many ways for you or your company to get involved. You can make a financial gift, become a sponsor, or donate food or household goods. The Village Hall and Community Center lobbies will both have special “April Food Day” bins for residents and the community to drop off their donated food an non-perishable items. Please have your items to us by Wednesday, April 17th. Items that can be donated include:
- 100% Fruit/Vegetable Juice
- Bagged Rice/Beans
- Canned Fruits/Vegetables
- Cereal/Oatmeal/Granola Bars
- Chips/Cookies/Crackers
