The first significant snow of the season is coming. Richton Park is looking to get hit with between 2-6 inches, beginning 9am tomorrow (Thursday) morning, not ending until 3am early Friday morning. It will turn sharply tomorrow afternoon. Snow flurries anticipated for Saturday as well. What's going to make this event extra hazardous is the "white-out" or "drifting" effect, where the extremely high wind speeds will blow snow in all directions, totally diminishing visibility. Roads will not be clear no matter where you're going. Please, Please take precaution while traveling, especially on Friday.
Thursday Night, Wind Chill -27 Friday, Wind Chill -23 Saturday, Wind Chill -31 Sunday, Wind Chill -27 Monday, Wind Chill-11
The Village Hall will also be a Warming Center/Shelter for anyone in need. Our Public Works Department is committed to providing safe, accessible streets during the winter months. During inclement weather events, our initial focus is keeping the drive lanes and intersections clear. Remember, there is No Parking on side-streets when snow removal conditions exist, after (2) inches of snowfall.
