Village President Rick Reinbold and Turnstone Development is pleased to announce that construction has commenced on a five-story, 55-unit senior housing apartment building in the Village of Richton Park.
Located just west of the intersection of Sauk Trail and Governors Highway, the $18 million project will be designed for interaction among its 61 residents with community rooms on each floor and a larger community room on the ground floor. The complex will also have a walking trail for residents around a pond on the property. A portion of the site under construction will be donated back to the Village for the construction of a veteran’s memorial after construction is complete.
“We are thrilled to be underway with construction here in Richton Park,” said Turnstone Development Executive Director Bill Schneider. “We heard the need for additional senior housing in the Southland and are so grateful for the partnership and support from the Village and the Illinois Housing Development Authority who were both essential in making this happen.”
“The Village of Richton Park is pleased to be working with Turnstone Development to bring about this substantial addition to new construction in the Village Town Center,” said Village President Rick Reinbold. “We have heard overwhelming support from our residents as well as strong interest from many seniors who have already expressed interest in leasing at the property a year from now.”
Anyone aged 55+ who is interested in leasing at Town Center Pointe may contact Jessica Poirier at 708-657-4216 or jessica@housingseniors.com.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier in the month with Village President Reinbold, members of the Village Board, representatives of Turnstone Development and elected officials from throughout the region including U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, a representative of State Senator Michael Hastings, State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin, a representative of Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, and Rich Township Supervisor Calvin Jordan.
