Village of Richton Park Temporary Closures Due to COVID-19
To ensure that we are doing our part as an organization in containing this pandemic, the Village of Richton Park is temporarily closed for all programming and non-essential services until March 30, 2020.
During this time, there will be no disruption of emergency services from Police, Fire, and Public Safety personnel (First Responders).
This is an intensified decision, as Friday, March 13th’s release only addressed the suspension of recreational programs, events, rentals, and meetings through March 30th.
The decision was made by Village President Reinbold, the Board of Trustees, and senior staff after learning new details from the Federal government, the Center for Disease Control, the Illinois Dept. of Public Health, the Cook County Dept. of Public Health, and state officials on COVID-19.
Amid our closure of services, we thank you for your patience and understanding. As this is an ongoing and evolving situation, the Village will continue to monitor and assess these protocols, ultimately making a determination as to when we can safely resume regular operations. We will be sharing updates online at richtonpark.org, through email subscription lists, and on the Village’s social media. Although payments are allowed via drop-box in Village Hall’s main lobby, we encourage citizens to take advantage of our digital tools and online-payment features also located at richtonpark.org. Staff will be responding to messages left on the Village voicemail daily.
Departments with service counters located inside both the Village Hall and Community Center will be the most impacted due to the temporary closure. With counter windows temporarily closed, alternative methods of servicing the public will be reinforced and well-supported. This includes the use of email, phone, and the drop-box located outside, just west of Village Hall.
President Reinbold and the Board of Trustees are cautious, but hopeful. “The health and safety of our residents and staff is our top priority, as our actions ensure that we focus on what’s most critical to serving the public. These precautionary measures are in the best interest of everyone during this emerging and rapidly changing situation.”
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime, please exercise preventative measures and safe practices, be mindful of others, and check on your loved ones.
