As the escalation of alert continues with the potential spread of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) the Village of Richton Park is prepared to navigate through these challenging circumstances with every citizen’s health and safety in mind.
It is necessary that health and safety precautions take place to ensure the well-being of ALL citizens.
In efforts to minimize the chance of an outbreak, the Village of Richton Park has suspended ALL recreational programs, events, rentals, and meetings now through Monday, March 30th. This includes:
- All Community Services and Parks & Recreation programming, classes, events, and rentals
- All Homeowner Association, Commission, Committee, and Organization meetings
- All Home and Building Inspections
While we are disappointed, our priority is the safety of those who participate in all the things that we offer. During this temporary shutdown, our facilities will undergo deep cleaning and sanitizing throughout the entire premises.
Following this two-week moratorium, we will reassess on-going reports from the CDC, the Illinois Dept. of Public Health, and the Cook County Dept. of Public Health, to make a determination as to when we can safely resume regular services and programming.
While the Village remains open, non-essential services such as registrations, in-house payments, licensing, permits, etc. will function through the main Village Hall servicing window. To minimize exposure, we encourage citizens to take advantage of our digital tools and online-payment features located at richtonpark.org.
Along with first responders and other personnel, please pardon our “health-conscious etiquette” as we will be practicing social distancing when and where possible, as should the general public. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime, please exercise preventative measures and safe practices, be mindful of others, and check on your loved ones.
